Initially trained as a dietitian, Dr. Spreen decided to become
a doctor during clinical rotations. Once in medical school,
she discovered a love of surgery. She also found that there is
nothing in the world like helping to deliver a new life safely
into a mother’s arms.
Dr. Spreen sees women age 16 and older for comprehensive
obstetric and gynecologic care. She is especially interested
in the use of robotic surgery to perform hysterectomies and
treat endometriosis. She believes in creating an environment
where her patients feel comfortable and leave knowing that
their concerns were heard and addressed. She encourages
her patient to prioritize some self-care practice – like exercise,
massage and healthy eating – so they may live better. She
considers it a privilege to help women through some of their
best and worst times.
Now in the Naval Reserve, Dr. Spreen served five years active
duty as a lieutenant commander in the Medical Corps at Naval
Medical Center, Camp Lejeune, NC.
Dr. Spreen values spending time with her husband, their two
daughters and dog. Their favorite family vacation spot is Walt
Disney World. Dr. Spreen also enjoys cooking, gardening,
boating, beaches and travel.
